 Healthy Families is a low cost insurance catered by the State of California for the juvenile. The following factors are being given to the eligible citizens: <br><br>

" Health care
" Dental care
" Vision Care

Three main objectives keep  Healthy Families smoothly running. Primarily, it targets that every parent practice constructive parenting. Next, it aims to improve both the development and health of every child. Lastly, it intends to avert child maltreatment and abandonment. <br><br>

Eligibility <br><br>

The following qualifications should be met for your child to be considered as a  Healthy Families member: <br><br>

" Your child must fall into the required age category of 0 to 19 years old. <br><br>
" S/he must be a resident of California. Prior to that s/he is a US citizen, nationals or qualified immigrants. <br><br>
" S/he must be declared not qualified for  no-cost Medi-Cal. <br><br>
" For the past three months, your child must not be covered by any employer-sponsored health insurance. <br><br>
" The family s monthly income tax is also taken into consideration depending on the size of the family and the age bracket your child falls in. <br><br>

Coverage <br><br>

There is wide-array of health care benefits provided by  Healthy Families such as: <br><br>

For the infant:

" Well-baby care
" Newborn screening

For both the infant and the youth: <br><br>

" Doctor s service
" Prescribed medicines
" Medical laboratory work
" Routine check-up (Physical Exam)
" In-patient care and treatment
" Immunization
" Hearing and Vision Screening

Cost <br><br>

The cost coverage for each child is within the range of 7 to 9 dollars per month. A maximum payment of 27 dollars per month is set for all the children in a family. <br><br>

During physician visits and purchase of prescribed medicines, you have to dole out five dollars as your co-payment share. Annually, your family s co-payment share should not exceed two hundred fifty dollars. <br><br>

 Healthy Families operate in thirty-six counties within the state of California. You can seek application forms through your local health center. If you have further questions, it is also recommended that you discuss this with health care providers that are knowledgeable about California s  Healthy Families. Additionally, there is a downloadable form via the Internet if you wish to obtain an online application form. <br><br>
