The needy and impoverished people often neglect to update the condition of their health. Routine check-ups and physician visits are rare occurrences to them. To some, health monitoring is almost an outdated occurrence. <br><br>

What they have inside their pockets are best dole out to the most basic need  food. However, there are times wherein you or a family member is in dire need of medical attention. Without a good amount of money to buy a health insurance, how can you go about with the expenses? <br><br>

The US government has mandated health insurance plans for under privileged citizens. Medicare is one of the health insurance programs which are government-funded. <br><br>

Medicare is administered by the US government to cater medical care and treatment to qualified citizens. If you intend to enroll under the Medicare program, you must possess the following qualifications: <br><br>

" You are a US citizen. You also qualify under the program if you have spent five uninterrupted years of stay in the country. <br><br>

" The law has age requirement of 65 years old and above. <br><br>

" If you have disability and have a Social Security Number for at least two years then you are eligible for Medicare benefits. Whenever an individual has disability, the government disregards the age requirement. <br><br>

Other forms of eligibility are the following: <br><br>

" Your need for a kidney transplant or if you have continuous dialysis for permanent kidney failure, allows you to become a Medicare member. <br><br>

" Individuals with  Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis are entitled for Medicare benefits. <br><br>

To get hold of the different benefits Medicare has, you need to know the specific health and medical services it offers such as: <br><br>

If you need to be confined in a hospital or in a health home then you must seek Medicare Part A. Furthermore, it also offers competent nursing services as well as sanatorium care. <br><br>

For acceptable and essential medical services, Medicare Part B handles that. Such medical services you can obtain are the following: <br><br>

" Physician service <br><br>
" Laboratory equipments and services <br><br>
" Hospital service (mostly outpatient care) <br><br>
" Medical supplies <br><br>

Medicare Part C is a special form of health care service wherein any member may choose to obtain health and medical services from private health care plans. <br><br>

To obtain medical prescription drug benefits for outpatients, it is made available by Medicare through its own drug plans or private health plans under Medicare Part D. <br><br>

Apart from the above-mentioned Medicare benefits, it also offers numerous health programs to ensure physical fitness and good health condition of its members. Some of the recent Medicare programs are: <br><br>

" Medical Physical. This type of program offers its member s preventive physical exam. <br><br>

" Medicare Counseling. Medicare is giving medical advice as well as emotional and spiritual support to its members. Normally, members are oriented with the pros and cons of their illnesses. <br><br>

Someone understands your need for health or medical care. Moreover, there is someone who recognizes that money is scarce nowadays. Your own government knows your need, the reason why they have set forth a low cost health insurance for the senior citizens, the disabled, and the severely ill. <br><br>
