Group Health Insurance for your Employees in Arizona: Serves for a Purpose
from:
Everything in this world exists for a purpose. The trees are there to provide us shelter as well as food through their fruits. We take supplements after every meal to nourish our body with the necessary vitamins and minerals that we need. You are married to your loving spouse because the two of you are destined to bring up a happy family.
Even your small business also serves for a purpose not only for you but also to other parties as well. Your small business means larger income for you. Your small business means an additional option to your clients to further decrease the prices of the product or service that you offer along with other similar business in the market. Your small business means job to your employees.
Speaking of employees, they also serve a purpose to your small business in return. They will help you manage and run the day-to-day operation of your business. If you were employed before in a company, then you are probably aware of how employees are assigned to perform a specific task within that company. You know how you are compensated, as well as the benefits you are entitled to while being employed.
And that is how you will treat your employees in your small business. Aside from paying them the necessary wages, there is a need for you to provide them of the benefits they are entitled to. One of which is enrolling them into a group health insurance plan to cover all their health needs while they work for your small business. It is one of the major benefits you must provide to them as their present employer.
When you decide to get a group health insurance plan for your employees, there are things that you need to consider. First, every state has its own governing laws and regulations in terms of health coverage implementation of the plan. If you put up your small business in the state of Arizona, it just makes sense that you conduct an extensive study about state laws governing the group health insurance. It will help you understand your rights to the right health care plans under such laws, thus protecting the interest of your employees and yourself as the employer.
For instance, there is a certain provision within the Arizona insurance law stating that if you put up a small business in Arizona (Take note that Arizona law classifies a business with 2 to 50 employees in one calendar year as a small-group employees.), you are not obliged to give any group health insurance coverage to your employees. In other words, you are free from such obligation, making it as an optional benefit. However, it is considered to be as humanitarian consideration as well as unwritten protocol for all business in the United States to provide health insurance coverage to their employees to protect their interest while they are working for your business.
Since you have arrived on the affirmative decision of enrolling all your employees in a group health insurance plan, there are two considerations you need to remember. First is their eligibility to receive health benefits provided by the plan. As their employer, it is your responsibility to establish your employees’ eligibility for such health coverage. Most insurance provides guaranteed issue deals that lets you and your employees bypass medical underwriting.
Second is the plan’s premium payment. In Arizona, you are required to shoulder half of the employees’ share to the premium payments. This is the standard percentage that most health insurance companies entail as your minimum contribution to your employees’ health insurance payments. You may also opt to cover the premiums in full if you wish to.
Getting a group health insurance plan for your small business in Arizona also serves for a purpose—to ensure that the health needs of your employees will be provided.
