The tsunami like costs of health care fees and just a bad turn with unexpected health problem; your money, cash, moohlah, or whatever you may call it, can be quickly washed away in seconds. That is why you must obtain health insurance to buffer your financial needs in health care.
Now, you may always have saved money for the pleasures in life but not enough for a high priced health insurance premium. Here’s how to curb the high price of health insurance plans:
1. Live fast for tomorrow we die. No! Don’t make this famed motto your guide to good living! If you do, not a single insurance company will provide you with their services. Actually, many insurance companies are now motivating their own customers to live healthily by giving out prizes for those who visit a fitness center and eat a carrot once in a while. If you are healthy and live your life in safety (i.e. no extreme sports participation) then a health insurance company will likely give you reduced premium rates. It’s a win-win situation!
2. Obtain a background check on your date, fiancée, or girl/boyfriend if he or she has a good health insurance plan that has spousal coverage and then tie the knot with him or her. Kidding aside, if your spouse already has a sizable health insurance and a stable job then his or her health insurance can cover you with its spouse coverage. So love him or her for eternity.
3. Be prepared for physical and diagnostic exams. Nothing beats preparation and good knowledge about the procedures you will undergo to qualify for a low cost health insurance. To do this, be kind to your doctor and ask him or her of the specifics and the dos and don’ts of certain procedures. For instance, smoking or drinking coffee can increase your blood pressure. You might as well quit smoking, too.
4. When health insurance representatives visit you, keep in mind that it is not a social visit. They will more likely to interrogate you about your medical and family history or some information they deem important. In answering their questions it is best to answer them accurately and sincerely. This is important when they ask you about past illnesses. You must explain to them comprehensively that it was just a minor mishap. Don’t forget to honestly tell them all about your medical history as they will likely to find that out in the long run.
5. When ‘window shopping’ for health insurance, it is best to do it in secret. Insurance companies might not like your snooping around and may alert others to blacklist you. To do this, hire a broker and inform him that you are shopping for an affordable health insurance in the dark. Your broker will understand.
6. And if all else fails, move to another state where they generously provide their residents almost free health insurance programs. Some states have programs that provide very affordable health insurance without compromising the quality of health care benefits.
With all these suggestions flown to your direction, there is no reason why you can’t find an affordable health insurance.
